Auditing Committee

The task of the Auditing Committee is the auditing of the administration and economy according to the Local Government Act 121§.

The Auditing Committee’s term of office is four years unless otherwise decided by the municipal council.

Local Education and Cultural Committee

The scope of the Local Education and Cultural Committee includes school services, leisure services and early childhood education. The committee directs and develops the field of education and culture for its part, and is responsible for the successful organisation of services. The committee follows and evaluates the effectiveness of the services and allows an opportunity for residents and users to get involved in the planning and development of the services. The committee represents the municipality and uses the right to speak on matters belonging to its area of responsibility.

The head of the local education and cultural committee works as the presenting officer of the committee.

The committee’s term of office is four years unless otherwise decided by the municipal council.

Environment and Technical Committee

Under the scope of the Environment and Technical Committee belong the planning and environment operations, property and construction services, municipal infrastructure services, public water works, sports services, and meal and cleaning services.

The technical director works as the presenting officer of the committee.

The committee’s term of office is four years unless otherwise decided by the municipal council.

Central Election Committee

The Central Election Committee is a statutory committee whose task is to manage the organisation of municipal elections as well as parliamentary and presidential elections in the municipality.

The committee’s term of office is four years equivalent to the council’s term of office.
