There are 7 comprehensive schools in the Sotkamo municipality’s educational administration, including 6 primary schools and one secondary school.
A school district is defined for each comprehensive school. A pupil’s nearest school is the school whose school district he or she lives in. A pupil can also apply to a school other than the school in his or her own school district. In that case, the municipality does not have the transportation obligation.

Morning and Afternoon Activities
The Youth Work Services organise afternoon activities for pupils at grades 1.-2., and pupils in special needs education. The activities are organised on school days according to the schools’ agenda at 7-9 and 11-17.
