Memorials
The monuments of Sotkamo are an integral part of the locality’s cultural history. In Sotkamo, there are memorials for fallen heroes and the War of Independence.
In the Sotkamo graveyard, there is a granite cross set up to the memory of the fallen heroes of the war in years 1939-44, and also a memorial statue of artist Jaakko Leppänen sculpted by sculptor Matti Hynynen.
At the Lutheran church, there is a memorial to the Finnish Civil War in 1918.
